sOME THOUGHTS ON CREATIVITY ETC

Lately, I've been thinking about the nature of creativity, and namely; what gets in the way. Judgment and self-doubt. Always. The true ideal in my opinion is to be operating from a space of curiosity, and willingness. You have to lay down at the feet of your ideals and take risks.

You have to let go of concerns of whether what you're doing is worthwhile, or good enough - Because - That really doesn't matter. I've never met a creative person who is truly satisfied with an end product enough that it sustains them for more than a week. The process is the key. Focusing on being present to that is the key to finding joy in your work. Being willing to make an idiot of yourself is a prerequisite to finding something special.

People just want a safe space to be themselves - and if you can do that truly with that you're making, if you can show someone it's okay, and make them feel held, and be a part of the side that says - I'm here, I see you, let me show you something I see/hear/think/feel that matters to me - you might just open up some space and give some inspiration for them to do the same.

So just get your hands dirty and make stuff - we're all here to help each other get through each day until it's done, so let's do it making our lives the most beautiful they can be on the way.
